I want to take the opportunity to thank 'Growing Young Minds' for the excellent tutoring and support given to my daughter. She has grown in confidence in her ability to tackle Maths GCSE, and attributes this to her Tutor Annette's interactive teaching methods. They say the proof is in the pudding. Both our daughters attended Growing Minds to prepare them for the 11 plus and Wandsworth Test. Both of them were offered places at all schools we entered for; these included 3 top independant schools, and Graveney Tooting. Growing minds did a brilliant job on helping them both achieve this - could not recommend more.

We had a really positive experience with the maths lessons. The tutors were reliable, professional and very supportive. My son made a clear improvement in his maths skills over time, but what I appreciated most was their understanding and patience. My son has ADHD, and the teachers were always calm, kind and adaptable to his needs. One of the teachers took the time to learn about my son’s love for dinosaurs and even used dinosaur figures during maths lessons to help keep him engaged and focused. This made a huge difference and showed real care and creativity in their teaching approach. I would definitely recommend them to other parents looking for a trustworthy and understanding maths tutor.

Joanna and her team helped my son, which is currently in year 9, by building his confidence in English. The knowledge from the tuition lessons is directly applicable to his school work providing him a better understanding of the lesson materials and prepares him for any exams.

Joanne was excellent with preparing my Year 5/6 child for the Wandsworth Test, making him more relaxed and confident than would have been possible without her help. She eased his mind and explained the VR/ NVR in a way that we just couldn't have done, and had a huge impact on our family's experience of the build up to the test and the test itself. I was particularly impressed with how she seemed to really listen and get to know our child and communicate with him in exactly the right way to build a positive relationship. We are all very grateful and would highly recommend her, particularly if you have an anxious child - although I'm sure she's great whatever their disposition!

Joanne and her team have been so wonderful, they have nurtured our daughter and have not only been massively instrumental in the development of her education but have also made it a fun and easy experience. My daughter was 8 when I discovered Joanne at GYM and boy am I glad I did! When she first started she couldn't recall 7 + 5 even and would guess the answer. It was upsetting and worrying for me and looking back I think it affected her confidence not only in Maths but just her all round learning experience at school. I was worried too because the curriculum moves so fast so I felt if she didn't get that maths foundation learning in it would just be so difficult for her. Joanne was straight talking about exactly where my daughter was in her maths and how she got on each week. I prefer this instead of not being sure so you know exactly where she stands and what she needs to learn. From just one hour a week and 3 years later, my daughter is not only where she needs to be in maths in school, she says arithmetic is her favourite subject! Joanne's way of explaining maths to her (especially as she didn't get it right in the way the school taught her and the speed the school taught her) is absolutely brilliant. Joanne makes sure the child explains it back to her so they get why and how they got that answer and also revisits any subject again (fractions etc) so it's properly sunk in. Couldn't recommend GYM enough nor thank Joanne enough for giving my child her confidence back too and teaching her maths so it has sunk in forever! Absolute 10 out of 10.

Pedagogic expertise and a strong understanding of a child's individual qualities.

My children has been part of growing young minds for years. They especially helped my son prepare for the Wandsworth exam and his SATs. Teacher Rose is excellent teacher and very patient. Earlsfield location is also very accessible and easy to go to. If you're looking for tuition to help your child. Growing Young Minds is the best place to go. It helps prepare them for the exams going to secondary school. Highly recommended.

I have been with Growing Young Minds since 2018. All my children have been tutored by them. They are very professional and provide twice yearly parent tutor feedbacks, discussing the progress of each child. Very pleased with their services and have always recommended them to friends.
